How about singling out one crime & making the fine for it = to the national debt

Like the lottery in reverse, whoever gets it will have to singlehandedly invade Switzerland in order to pay the fine

As the UK has only reduced it's deficit (not debt) by 25% so far, we need another three times as many cuts before that mounting debt can even start to be reduced.

Its all pie in the sky.
It will never be paid off, infact I doubt it exists.

But, like global warming/climate change/hole in the ozone layer, it allows governments to raise taxes all in the name saving us from oblivion.

 

This is my belief too, sort of.

I wonder what would happen if every country told every other country, "sorry, but that money we owe you, tough, you're not getting it".

Would we all have to go to war to forcibly get our money back? How would we afford to do that if we're all so skint?

 

We have been know to write off other countries debts in the past.
How about we all start again.

 

Didn't do history as a subject but I think that happened in the 12th or 13th Century. The crown realised it couldn't afford the interest, Jews were the principal money lenders, so they just made it illegal to be a Jew in England.

Wiped out the national debt over night.

So, bringing that forward to the present day........

 

Well the welfare costs in the UK are £170 billion, so just cut benefits on all those who have been on it for more than one year by 20% = Debt cleared

Welfare is for food, not ciggs and Sky TV so I am sure they will manage, as for the poor children, use the £80pw child tax credit and Child benefit for them

Close the doors to all new immigrants unless of a specialist ocupation, that we actually need, and deport all immigrants that have not worked since arrival in the past five years

As for Abu Qatada whatever and his dirty £490k house, he is not working so suggest he gets a bucket of water with domestos and starts scrubbing, his children can get the bus to school just like my Grandkids (I need big house nearer school, my kids suffering due to you British)

I think the Martians are viewing this "poker game ". They can see all the cards and their worthless value. They will come to the Croupier's table when the time is right and show us how the game should be played.Every rotten player on this planet will be forced to put their cards on the table.
