Hi everyone, Ive just got hold of some button mushroom spawn and although I think cultivating them will be an interesting challenge, I haven't got a clue where to begin. Ive heard that many people find them difficult to grow, even when using specialised equipment (I don't have any special mushroom stuff) but I've also heard some people have simply thrown the spawn into a growbag in their garden and ended up with a huge crop.

Does anyone have any advice for my mushroom endeavours?

    Hi Deano,

You need to keep the temperature high & steady, but mainly the humidity. It needs to be about 98%

Thanks for the reply Zigs, do they need to be kept in a dark environment or is full/partial sunlight the way to go?

    No worries:)

They don't care one way or another about sunlight, unless its drying them out.

No Chlorophyll in them unlike plants. As long as they have the right temperature & humidity they'll be happy.
