cherries

    can anyone tell me why the cherries on my stella cherry tree are turning brownand dropping off. i;ve had it for about 3 years and this was to be the first harvest. i had black fly, but have got rid of it :mad:

    Oooh I've had this over the past week.

    My garden was carpeted with prematurely fallen cherries.

    I thought it was the intense winds over the past week or possibly some light root pruning I had to do.

    Interesting that you have a similar problem.

    I had 2 cherries on my stella and they have done the same :cnfs:

    This is the first year my tree has been planted (with me) though.

    I should just say that in the past week we've harvested about 4 kilos of fruit from our cherry, and there is still loads left for the birds. Clearly I was worrying about not very much at all. :)
