Has anyone signed up for this?

You can sign up and use free computer time to take part in a climate change study- well worth doing, I think. I got very excited and tried to sign up, but unfortunately it isn't yet Mac compatible so I'll have to stick to SETI.
I have got an old PC, I'm contemplating buying a router so I can get it online.

Do get yourself a IBM type Liz, loads more options. Especially new programmes and patches.

Hi hans, I love Macs, they are so easy to use, and I dislike monopolies! Also, no problems with viruses. But I think I will try to get the PC online for occasions such as this.
Does no-one want to join this study? It's vitally important that the true direction of climate change is established, and the amount of data needing to be 'crunched' is so vast that this is an area where anyone with a little spare computer time [Broadband or dial-up] can help. It runs like a screensaver. [IMG]

    Hi Liz,
I did the last one too which was quite a while ago now.
The pc is on 24/7 so it`s no great hardship for it to run when it`s not busy.
The only problem is whether the powers-that-be will take notice of the data and if so, when/if they`ll act on it ;)

I've had a look and I will as I am concerned, I'll download it in the morning and read it all thoroughly.

This one finishes in May. I didn't know they had done one already. I very much doubt whether the powers-that-be will take notice, but there's so much speculation about, I'd appreciate some independant informed knowledge.
It's very interesting to see what's going on, as well!
I am running SETI still and my 8 yr old grandson always likes to have a look in case my computer has detected an Alien!

    Hi Liz,

The last one is a vague memory..that`s how long ago it was.
I can`t even remember who instigated it but i`m sure i ran it on my old P200 so it was definitely a while ago [IMG]
