Hi All. I've just joined and hope to be able to benefit from all your knowledge and contribute some of mine. I have some Cupressus sempervirens, "Totem" I think. I would like to stop their growth when they reach a certain height. If I just chop the top off will that stop further growth or will it create a fork and continue to grow?

Welcome Who am I? :) It seems a shame to spoil the shape of these trees, but that is your choice of course. As with most of the conifer family I doubt pruning the top will stop growth.

Thanks Sheal. The problem is overhead telephone cables. I may be able to reposition the trees. Thanks again.
