Quite a new Floribunda Rose "Ebb Tide" just thought it looked nice:)
It start's as deep purple buds opening to a smokey plum purple. It has a strong spicy clove fragrance:)

Good evening Catztail I believe that you can order it now (Bare Root) from November/March,it has a very strong scent and they say it is ideal for growing in a pot,if you want to:)

Thanks Woo. I did look it up and several places have it. At the moment I am focusing my attention, and my limited funds, on getting my allotment in working order. My next purchase is a shed and some slabs to set it on. Also, I may check online in Jan as Wyvale sometimes has a half price sale! Are those photos of yours?

I like that Woo, I spotted one that was a similar colour last week, but I can't for the life of me remember it's name. :doh:When I come across it again on my rose search I'll post it. :)

If it's perfect for growing in a pot and has a strong scent then I may have to find space to squeeze one in :snork:

Do you know if it's repeat flowering please WOO?

                    That's pretty too

See you said the magic words "ideal for growing in a pot" which is music to my ears.

I must also get one or two Roses with 'open' flowers (don't know what you call them) like the one above because it's easier for the bees to get at the pollen. I've seen some growing wild around here which smell lovely.

Any recommendations? The colours I am looking for would be pink/pale yellow/apricot or peach and they should be repeat flowering with a strong fragrance?

Thanks WOO and sorry for hijacking your thread.

"Kew Gardens" - seen it in Hyde Park. A bit "vigorous" but a stunning early flowerer,

No Worries Merleworld its our Thread my friend:)

Just thought I would throw this in:)
The Latin word "floribunda" means "many-flowering", and it perfectly describes the outstanding characteristic of this class of roses. Floribunda roses are popular because they flower all season, they have attractive growth, and they are easy to grow Floribunda roses are a cross between hybrid tea roses and polyantha roses.:)
