I havn`t grown any veg in pots myself before cattwoman25,but other people do.I did think about buying some cabbage this yr to make up for the ones i lost but i never did.I know i wouldn`t get the same kind of buzz as i get when growing from seed.
Last yr we visited some people down in south Wales.(Rhonda Valley)It was some buisness mr.fiz had to sort out and it was a round trip.We set off at tea time and arrived at around midnight.(I was a bit rough)Anyway,I did`nt know these people from Adam and i ended up in this lady`s back garden for the length of our stay(about an hour)with her showing me her veg.Mostly grown in pots apart from her runner beans.I was extremely impressed. All kinds of stuff includig colly.
Just to add, that if all the Welsh are as friendly as the couple we met that night, then you`ll do for me. [IMG] [IMG]

many thanks for your reply elainefiz i might give it a whirl ,
despite the weather we are having just lately i have managed to grow a bit of stuff in pots i started doing flowers last yr fed up of paying silly prices at garden centres ! and thought it would be nice to try some veg i have done cucumbers , toms , spuds , radish , spring onions , peppers , chillis & peas along with some herbs and have really enjoyed it and would like to try alittle more next year but am limited to pots due to house extension and conservatory been built and my 2 kiddies need the back garden to play in so pots only :(

wanted to try leeks , onions , carrots & colly
