Can someone please advise me as to how to propogate hornbeam? I have a long hedge of it but want to plant up a new one further from the house. Can it be done by cuttings and if so when's the best time to do this?

:D Sounds like it makes a good 'dense' hedge Tweezers. May be worthwhile selecting some of your existing hedge to try layering.

Let us know how you get on it sounds interesting. [IMG]

Other options I guess are to buy whips, sold in bulk to plant. Other trees I have purchased seem to be mightily cheap at this size [IMG] Depends on time you have verses money.
