Hornbeam propogation

Can someone please advise me as to how to propogate hornbeam? I have a long hedge of it but want to plant up a new one further from the house. Can it be done by cuttings and if so when's the best time to do this?

 

:D Sounds like it makes a good 'dense' hedge Tweezers. May be worthwhile selecting some of your existing hedge to try layering.

Let us know how you get on it sounds interesting.

Other options I guess are to buy whips, sold in bulk to plant. Other trees I have purchased seem to be mightily cheap at this size Depends on time you have verses money.

 

The quick answer to propagation of trees is hardwood cuttings, taken in late autumn, Tweezers.
