It's funny how sometimes visiting Gardeners Corner I'll stay quietly in the background. Other times, like this evening I'll come on and talk the hind legs off a donkey! :mute:

What a stupid saying that is! :loll:

Hi Sheal, I think the saying derives from the Donkey, being such a strong Animal with very strong Hind legs, which are the last things to go when they are utterly Exhausted.
Hence the saying" Talk the hind legs off a Donkey":WINK1:.

I bet you could persuade it to go for a walk afterwards Sheal :D

Do you know a bloke called Andy, sells solar panels ? It was cheaper for him to drive over here from the Island than it was for me to buy the panels in Yeovil:DOH: Solartechiom.com I think his website was.

I bet I could too Ziggy :loll:
I know a few blokes called Andy, my son included, but it's not him!
I presume we are talking about the Isle of Man here and not Wight, which we're oftern mistaken for.

I don't know the chap or the firm, but I'm surprised he took his vehicle over there, it costs a fortune to get off this island. Our own ferry service.....Isle of Man Steampacket Co. Check it out and you'll see.

The island has a population of 81000, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack to find him! :heehee:

Just thought i'd ask, as its a big internet, but a small world. Was chatting on here with Chopper, before finding out he's my next door neighbour, give or take.

I know where the Isle of Man is, its that last stack of rock next to "Old Harry" just off of Purbeck. Suprised that there are 81,000 people on there too, didn't think there would be the room what with all those nesting Kittywakes.:heehee:

Andy makes regular visits to the West Country with his solar systems, think it might be a VAT thing, is it true that your VAT is less than ours ?

Yes Ziggy, we're sandwiched between Liverpool and Dublin.
VAT used to be less than yours, but that horrible government of yours got at us last year. We're only semi-independant and sometimes England throws 'mud' at us.

It is a small island for the population which is expanding rapidly. The islands approx. 35 miles by 9. If you stand on top of Snaefell, our one and only mountain, on a good day, you can see England, Wales Scotland and Ireland.
I'm an Essex girl originally but have lived here 19 years. I have Manx grandchildren now.
People think it's the back of beyond but it's quite advanced in a lot of things. I could sing it's praises forever, don't get me started!
But there again, perhaps I should do one of those..........Things You Didn't Know About The Isle Of Man - things.......or Ellan Vannin as it's known here.

The T.T's on the first two weeks in June. The population will explode then including upto 30,000 extra bikes here. It's a wonderful chaos.

Like I thought, Liverpool, Dublin, Purbeck, all just off the coast of Dorset then.
