    Hi,

There seems to be a lot of similar designs around for Cervical / Neck Pillows, usually made of Memory Foam or similar, and like anything they get lots of marvellous reviews.

Has anyone bought one and found they do work and also if they have continued to use it all the time ?

I have one and it certainly helps my arthritic neck. Used it for the last 2 or 3 years.

Yes, I've got one exactly like that. I haven't used a traditional pillow in decades, just can't get comfortable with them. I sleep on my back.

Good to get first hand experiences rather than all the so called suspect web reviews.

        Thanks :dbgrtmb:

An important point when getting new pillows - do you sleep on your back or side?

I sleep on my side mostly, so need a higher pillow to keep my spine comfortable.
For back sleepers, a lower pillow is better to keep the spine in the right place.

Ages ago a friend with serious spinal problems recommended the Simba Hybrid Pillow as it worked wonders for her.
I was horrified at the cost, but took the plunge and over the 6 years I've had it I've been impressed, and I'd get another when the time comes - it's very comfortable.
It's not as plump now as it was when I first bought it, but you can buy extra stuffing for it (£10) which I'll probably get soon.

It's height adjustable (by adding or removing the stuffing) and one side has some sort of material that has a coating to keep your head cool, and it really does work especially handy on hot nights.

What does somebody like me do? I always go to sleep on my side - I have great difficulty falling asleep on my back, but always wake up flat on my back. Do I have to wake myself up when I roll on my back to replace the pillow? Hang on, that wouldn't work because I'd need to be on my side to get back to sleep.

When we changed our mattress a few years ago it came with memory foam pillows which supposedly mould themselves to your head. Problem was they were far too big to fit into normal pillow cases without crushing them in which kind of defeats the object.

I guess you need to work out what proportion of the night is spent on your side, and what on your back, and buy the pillow accordingly.

Film yourself! Or if you have a partner, make them wake up every half hour through the night and take notes!

A bit like you in that respect, often going to sleep on the side or front , very rarely able to go off on the back, yet nearly always waking on the back.
Probably worth having two different pillows on the bed so you easily move to get comfy ?

A side-sleeper here. I wake up if I roll onto either my back or front.

That Simba Hybrid sounds interesting, @Pete8. I like ones where you can add or take away some of the innards.
