I mean are they any good?
I got a letter today saying I have 7,785, which be some strange mathematical formula comes out at £37.50????

It seems I've be getting them via my energy bills.

It also seems I can only spend them at some place called VUE????, Photobox, spelt funny and Argos, not somewhere I go much.

    Can I sell them on?
One careful owner, never used in the rain and available today.

Oh god where do these stupid ideas come from, I'd much prefer £37.50 off my gas bill.

I think it's just a ploy to keep you addicted to buying over-priced stuff at Sainsbury's.

We've got about £64's worth that will be used at Sainsburys, Argos or Homebase to buy something we need when it's on special offer/reduced at and we've been sent a 'spend and save voucher', or Argos are giving away £5 vouchers WYS £50 (£10/£100) or Homebase have a 15/20% off day and again have something we want and at a good price.

You can 'double up' your points on certain products at Sainburys http://www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/products-values/nectar/nectar-double-value-exchange/ If you carefully work out your shop you will not only get it 'half price' but if the products you buy are cheaper (at full price) Sainsburys will brand match the difference at full price!

T&C http://www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/brand-match/terms-and-conditions/ so for example you double up £20's worth in points to £40, buy 2 bottles of champagne that's £5/bottle cheaper elsewhere and then get a voucher for £10 off your next shop, so you'd be getting 2 bottles of champers for £5 each!

Hagen Das Ice cream is something what lots of people are buying to get the maximum out of this offer.

We collect them in Sainsbury's and Homebase, and at the moment our balance is sitting at over £70; the beauty of them is that unlike Tesco Clubcard vouchers where they send you them once a quarter and then basically zero your balance, you can continue to save Nectar points for as long as you want.

You can then spend them, just as you would do cash, at the till at Sainsburys - the only restriction is that you spend them in 'whole' five pound units.

I've had about £40 this year in Nectar points.

Just spend them in Sainsbury's, can use as many as them as you want in a single transaction!

I have a nectar card, I collect points at sainsburys and when I fuel up there as well. I've also linked my eBay account with it :) I redeem them in sainsburys when I've got a big big shop, or to buy gifts or Christmas food :)

Buy if you double them up and buy something that's far cheaper elsewhere you can get your original Nectar points value back (in the form of a Brand Match voucher) so getting your shopping for free! (then use the 'Brand Match' money off voucher to buy the stuff you would have bought using your Nectar points)

          From an MSE post:

          Lots more examples here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=63856558&postcount=1662

The trouble is we haven't got much space in our freezers because of all the free Birds Eye Fusions frozen veg we got a couple of days ago when Tesco cash dispensers (at stores that sold the product) also printed a voucher for free stuff every time you got a balance print out or withdrew some money. We wondered if our banks would cancel our cards due to 'unusual activity' the amount of times they went in and out their cash machines.

We also hit the (almost) free packs of chocolate eclairs that were free from Iceland yesterday with vouchers from The Sun which costs 40p but we bought all the papers used in multiple individual shops at the selfscan in WH Smiths so we could get 20p cashback on them on our Top Cashback accounts (that will be exchange for Clubcard Points and then used for double ups or 3x value Deals). That's Xmas and New Year's cakes sorted FOC.

There's no need to spend loads of money sorting out Xmas treats.

P.S. In this months Tesco mag there's a voucher to get 100 points when you buy gift cards which includes the likes of B&Q and there's also supposed to be a 20% ?? off gift cards promotion at the moment http://www.headforpoints.com/2013/1...-points-240-avios-with-20-gift-card-purchase/ , so if you get loads of vouchers from the mags and buy loads of the £20 denomination gift cards it applies to, on a B&Q 20% off weekend you'll be able to get a really cheap shed in which to store all your free stuff from Sainsburys and double up those points and buy another freezer from Tescos.

So if you buy 5 x £20 B&Q gift cards for £74 (£100 - £20/20% - £5 & -£1 in Points) then on a 20% off at B&Q day put £125 's worth of stuff in your trolley, get it reduced to £100 at the checkout and pay with those gift cards then your getting a whopping 41% off! (or 46% off if you 'double up those points, NB you can 'treble them up' for T&M vouchers)

Way too much hassle for me Scrungee, I'm afaid.
Cant even get my head round all these "offers".

I never go to Sainsburys so that's a non starter.

Anyway, how do you spend them?
I dont actually have anything in writing saying how many I have, apart from a letter, which contained another load of mumbo jumbo.

Life's too short Pete. It seems to me that they claw the money back from these so called offers by increasing the price of stuff on the run up to Xmas.

How far away from a Sainsburys are you Pete, just go and spend them on Christmas items, alcohol, anything you buy regularly, better than binning them

+1 (I also used to earn Nectar points on Amazon purchases until they dropped the scheme at the beginning of this year)

You need to present your Nectar card somewhere where they accept Nectar Points http://www.nectar.com/spend.points If you literally have nothing but the letter, then you'll need to contact them for a replacement here https://www.nectar.com/account/replaceNectarCard.snectar?method=identifyState or possibly on their helpline 0844 811 0 811
If you've no Sainsburys nearby, there's always Argos & Homebase.
And that's exactly what's making Sainsburys 'Brand Match' used in conjunction with 'Double Up' an incredible money spinner - the more they put up their prices of anything eligible for doubling up, the more free shopping you get plus getting the value of the points used back.

P.S. If anybody finds it too much trouble spending their points, I'll happily accept their cards .

There is one down in the town centre, last time I went there lots of the shelves were empty, that was a few years ago.
But I still cant work out how I spend them, on the letter they sent me there was no mention of Sainsburys anyway.
And can I just go in there and pay nothing? as long as I buy stuff under £37.50?
How do I prove that I have this credit?
I bet they wont take my word for it.
