Why can't I ever do anything "nomally"???? If anything goes wrong where I'm concerned, it ALWAYS turns into a mega drama!!!!! (my back garden, for example....)

Today, I had to do 2 things - pick my car up from the body shop after my neightbour (male) reversed off his driveway and into my car. The second thing was to take the dog to an eye specialist 15 miles up the road. I also had my friend's 2 boys for the day.

This morning we went to get the car - to cut a long story short - they messed up some of the electrics and we had to wait 1 1/2 hours whilst they fixed it.

This afternoon, we set off for the specialist, got up onto the motorway and got a flat tyre whilst overtaking two very large lorries!!!! I managed to pull safely onto the hard shoulder, I then had to walk 4 young boys to the emergency phone to get help. I have cover through my insurance.... 3/4 hour later the Highways Agency chaps arrived to make sure we were safe, and put out cones, etc. I then was able to get poor Bramble out the car. (I just couldn't have her out on the hard shoulder whilst supervising the 4 children. Poor dog was suffering from heat exhaustion.) We got some water down her, as I had drinks in the car, then we had to wait another 3/4 hour for the breakdown chap. He changed the wheel and we just went home. I have NEVER been so terrified in my life. Huge lorries and cars speeding past at 70+ just feet away - and the noise was deafening!!!! I am so gald we got sorted safely - it could have been so much worse - thank goodness I was still accelerating and only doing 60 when I got the puncture......

Tonight, I am going to have a very, very, very large drink - I am still shaking now!!!!!! :(

My sympathy to you Honey Bee.The number of times I've seen people sitting in their cars on the hard shoulder of the M6 when broken down. You HAVE to get as far away from the edge of the road as possible.Ive seen how far a lorry wheel can travel if it comes off - it crossed the central reservation bounced in the middle lane right up the embankment and about 300 yards across a field .Was very lucky that it was very early in the morning and noone was hurt but a man coming the other way got the scare of his life.I stopped and got talking to him ,he said he would never have beleived it unless he had seen how far the wheel had travelled.
    Enjoy your drink.

Oh, Honey Bee, so sorry you had such a bad day but glad that all of you are safe!

I know what you mean about all the traffic. When I had my own business and travelled around the country, I used to plot my trips via A roads avoiding motorways and it never really took me much longer doing that because I never got held up in motorway problems! [IMG]

I hope you've calmed a bit by now and have an enjoyable evening! [IMG]

Oh HB!! What a day! You poor thing! At least no-one was injured, that's the main thing. Dr. Windy prescribes a large alcoholic beverage. Purely medicinal - to calm the nerves :D :D
