I have aquired a digital camera! Only an old one, reject from technologically more advanced daughter, a fuji finepix A101. She had had it years and not used it for some time [got a bigger and better- no, smaller and better I expect].
According to google [the modern oracle] it's basic but acceptable, hope it will be better than mobile phone. Main disadvantage seems to be digital zoom, which I gather from previous camera discussion is not good!
Now waiting for batteries to charge up!

Hi Liz, will be better than your phone but whatyou want is more mega pixels.

This is more info about your camera.

    I have a sony DCSP-150,

but there is a new one which is brilliant.

Digital zoom is great and on some of the newer ones the fine focus on Dig zoom means you can get so close to the flower or plant and stay in complete focus.

What beautiful photos! Having been trying the camera out inside, I think my skill is still less than the capabilities of this camera, and it has the great advantage of being free. Haven't quite mastered the downloading. Got them onto the computer, lost the file, found it somewhere weird.
WHEN it stops raining [I'm trying to be positive and not saying 'if'] I shall take it outside and try it on the flowers. Thanks for your help! [IMG]

Can you imagine the cost if we all still used film instead of memory cards! I have so many more treasured shots of family and friends than my parents simply could not have done when we were small. The sony also allows videoing so I have videoed the jungle many times. Maybe I will post a web link to it?

That would be interesting! Mine will allow 20seconds of video! Here is a picture I downloaded from the camera:

Looks good. Just remember if you resize them the pixel quality reduces. So if you ever get them printed use the original file and save any resizes as new files.

Took these today in brief respite from rain. Not nearly as crisp as other photographers here, but will do until someone else in the family upgrades!
