    Silver Birches Pete.

These guys were trying to look innocent nearby, with their big pointy teeth.

    Deer?
Funny looking ones if they are.
    Look like they are contained.

What ever they are, they must be hungry or lacking in minerals

Are they related to wallabies or kangaroos Ziggy. Never heard of Mara before. Is it part of a zoo or privately owned ground? Shame about the birches they are such beautiful trees and they looked quite mature too.

Related to Guinea Pigs Moyra. They live at Tropicaria near Minehead. I guess they didn't think about the trees when they put them there.
They do look like butter wouldn't melt in their mouths though:whistle::cool:

They're native to South America. I saw them when I was out there and they eat grasses and soft leaved plants. I don't think they are likely to eat the bark of trees if they are well fed in captivity. Of course, this lot could be trying to get an ASBO before they stop giving them. :heehee:

Ziggy have you got these animals the right way round. I'm sure they are Wallabies in the first picture and this picture above looks more like a guinea pig.

Ziggy, my apologies and please ignore my last post. I've checked the web site for Tropiquaria, the first picture as you say is of Patagonian Mara, the second picture is an Agouti. I'd still say the second one looks more like a guinea pig though. :)
