Rose feeds

    Not sure if pelleted chicken manure is going to be available later because of the bird flu nonsense. I won't touch chemical feeds but am going to try these. The seaweed solution is concentrated and you dilute it to 1 part solution to 40 of water - so that should be very economical. I shall use it as a general feed, but its a pity that it has to be transported all the way from Orkney.

    Have you thought about comfrey and growing your own fertiliser Hornbeam?

    I used to grow comfrey when I had an allotment.. Even put it in the water butt to make liquid manure. Good stuff but such a stink. Couldn't do that so close to home.

    Ours gets stuffed into a 10 gallon screw-top polythene container. No pong. Until one takes the cap off, that is!
    A one metre square bed of comfrey and water from the water butt draining the GH roof has kept me going in liquid feed for roses, flowers and veg nearly all summer.
