    Hi,

I've just had a eucalyptus tree removed from my garden as it had grown too large. I want to replace it with another tree that will grow to about 2-2.5m when mature. Ideally the tree should be evergreen and quite bushy/dense.

I would appreciate any suggestions of trees that may meet this criteria.

    Thanks,
    Ben.

I would say you are looking for a shrub, rather than a tree then Ben, which makes life a whole lot easier.:D You could try, Arbutus, Daphne, Escallonia, Eleagnus, Viburnum tinus, Rhododendron, Holly, Privet or Quercus Ilex. I am sure you will get even more suggestions.:dbgrtmb:

Portuguese Laurel; I prefer this to the more common Cherry Laurel. It has smaller dark green leaves and has a dense growth habit and has scented white flowers in April/May, left unpruned it makes a lovely pyramid shaped tree. It isn't as vigorous as the Cherry Laurel either.....:thumb:
