There's a spooky thread going down on the other, other Forum, so I thought i'd start us off with one of my offerings from there.

Basically because I didn't want to have to type all that again:D

Anyone else seen anything they can't explain?

    Hi Ziggy
Sounds a bit corny but its all true.

I had a dream from when I was 10 years old that a old woman would open my bedroom door or just walk in if it was open and would stand at the bottom of my bed just looking at me, dressed all in black I would scream the house down each time ask my poor mum and brother !!!!!!.

This dream would happen once or twice a year happened all through my teens but as I got older it became more menacing as my door would open in she would walk and stand in the middle of the room with my bed facing sideways to her, I thought that I woke from the dream but I hadnt she was still standing their , I would close my eyes and re-open them and still she was standing just looking at me I tried to get out of the bed and I coudnt move , I would then start screaming as loud as I could I would finaly awake with my mother stading on the landing .
The next 6 months nothing hapened until one night (in my dream) the bedroom door opened in she came this time with a knife in her hand , same thing I would shout and scream think I was awake in she would walk again with the knife I would finaly wake up and my poor mum in a right state .

When I was 23 my mum friend was coming to stay I said to my mum " she can have my room I will stay in my mates"

When I came home on the Sunday night my mum was white faced , she told me at 3.00am going into Sunday morning she thought her friend was being murdered in my bed room she quickly jumpded out the bed and locked the door and called the police .
She waited to the police arrive and she quickly shot down the stairs and ran out of the house , my mums friend came onto the landing as the police came into the house and she explained to them that she had a night mare about a woman in black that opened the bedroom door all dressed in black with a large carving knife in her hand.

From that day onwards I have never had the dream again plus my mum friend never came back to the house , plus she knew nothing of the dreams I had had over the years.

And I remember it all like it was yesterday

Blimey Spruce, that is scary:thud: Similar thing then, same time, same place, more than one person seeing the same thing:what:

Another time, a friend & I were up late in the staff bedroom of an old peoples home. My mate was a cook there.

Huge old house with 4 floors, the staff rooms were in the attic. We heard footsteps outside the door about 2am, there shouldn't have been anyone there, my mate had tears streaming down his cheeks, of disbelief, he whispered that he could hear a little girl's voice. I listened but all I could hear was the footsteps.

Although the loo was only across the coridor, we were too freaked out to go out there & used the sink until daylight:o

When we looked in the morning the sounds had been coming from a narrow landing next to the stairs, leading to a window in the gable end. The slope of the roof meant you'd have to be on your knees to get to it, or only be 3 foot tall:OUCH:

Years later, I worked with a woman that had lived there as a little girl, when it used to be a boarding School. The attic rooms had been the dormitory rooms. She said exactly the same thing was happening then, but if they told the teachers they were told not to talk about it as it would scare the other pupils.

I was 6 years old and got scarlet fever ... I was really sick with high temp

I remember clearly hearing voices coming out of my wardrobe ... someone was in there talking to me ... t'was a man ...call it hallucinations or whatever but it's fact

my best mate had a serious motorcycle accident several years back ... a lorry went through a red traffic light, and he smacked into the lorry at nearly 50 miles per hour

he spent several weeks in intensive care and eventually pulled through after all his ribs were smashed, broken arms, legs, skull etc and he had extensive plastic surgery to his face ....

he saw an old guy dressed in grey that used to sit on the chair in his room all day and all night ... the old guy never spoke .... just looked at him .... no-one else could see the old man

call it hallucination or whatever, but to this day, my mate is still convinced .... and I have never known him to lie

Surely the polite thing for you to do would be to leave the room, then.:loll::loll::loll::D

Not spooky, but when I was a kid we had a cat that would always go and sit on the front step five minutes before dad got home. This could happen at any time of the day!!

I used to live in the house on the right hand side of this Turner painting

John will probably recognise it. Thats St. Catherine's Chappel on the Edge of Guildford. The cottage was a tied cottage we lived in when my Dad & I were groundsmen.

Again, in the kitchen with Mum, she was at the sink when she turned around & got a shock, she said she felt a barier that the couldn't move through for a few seconds:what:

Some time later, I was playing some music in the kitchen when I noticed the sound wasn't bouncing off the walls like it should, as if it was bouncing back too soon.

I looked around & noticed the remains of a partition in the ceiling, exactly where Mum had felt a barrier.

It was like the music was bouncing off a wall that wasn't there anymore:what:

Yes I do recognise that Ziggy, and I think I was there when that painting was made, thats me in my youth, at the front admiring the sheep.

So your cottage was on the other side of the Portsmouth Road in the Law College?

Thought I recognised you from somewhere.

Yes, it belonga Law College, my Father & I were part of the Garden Staff, looking after 23 acres of Manor House land, meadows, woodland, walled gardens, rose gardens, orchards etc.

                Bloody hated it.

I've never seen in the grounds of the Law College, it sounds quite nice hidden away, especially the walled garden bit. What was wrong with the job?

                  Not too spooky but strange...

...My Dad was in intensive care after having a serious heart attack, he was in that ward for 9 days. When he came out of hospital he told my mam that the whole time he had been there he could see his parents (who are no longer alive) feet next to his bed. He recognised their shoes, but couldn't seem to look up at them.

I think they just wanted him to know they were there for him. :)

One of the best jobs i've had, just didn't realise it at the time. Don't think they are open to the public, but just get in the Porché & park in the student car parks at the top of the hill, it'll take them a while to spot you.
