I don't think it's necessarily connected to dd's. My mum does quite a lot of charity donations through the little raffles they do and they certainly seem to be under one organisation, or at least the charity letters she receives.

I prefer one off donations as I like to change where the money goes. I completely agree they would rather get a consistent known amount coming in but often I give far more than I would have over the course of a year.

My grandfather always supported the salvation army and we used to get a lovely chap come door knocking at Christmas time, who we gave a decent amount to in grandads memory. I think it's been about 5 years since they came around so perhaps the rules have changed. We do get chuggers regularly and half the time it's the same people with a different charities tabard on.

To be fair, he doesn't have much of a garden. I'm guessing he's a good sleeper to only notice when he woke up.

Frustrating, pathetic, people just cannot read. So I advertised Free Hardy Geraniums, come get, bare roots. And they call me, I repeat the Hardy word, then they say, what do you mean. Oh, no, don't want those. SMH.

@Ergates Whale and Dolphin Conservation seems like a very worthy cause and it reminded me of a somewhat amusing moment at a social club I was a member of back in the 1970s. Button badges were becoming a popular way of showing support for various organisations and causes. A mate of mine came in wearing one with the logo "Gay Whales against the Bomb". He thought he'd covered all the base with that. He'd need a badge the size of a dinner plate today.

I do sympathise, having had similar things happen myself.

I put Brug cuttings on my local face book complete with pictures of the cuttings and the main plant from last summer in flower.

The amount of messages I have had asking what colour the flowers are is unbelievable, I think they just like to wind you up because once you tell them you never get a reply.

I saw a post recently where somebody advertised a RED fridge freezer for sale and included a photograph of a RED fridge freezer. Somebody contacted the vendor saying they definitely wanted it and would they hold it for them. When they arrived they said they didn't realise it was RED and didn't want it any more! There is thick and then there is.......

It is a little large for a garden sculpture but certainly striking.
