Black skinned bananas are the best for making good, tasty, moist cakes!

Someone I heard said they bombed the gates and it was likely part of their uprising plans. Attempt to free the political prisoners, there could be 10-15,000 in there, then take out the local media (they bombed tv stations as well).

What would we say if (say Russia) bombed Wandsworth prison’s gates and Broadcasting House just because they thought it would further their aims?

@Tidemark the UK is not in the habit of holding prolitical prisoners in their thousands to maintain its régime.

Wandwsorth is full of criminals who break criminal laws such as rape, theft, GBH, murder tho I gather conditions there, like in so many other prisons, could do with upgrading and re-modelling to make it a place of rehabilitation so, apart from the negative effect of releasing those anti-social people on society and having to recapture them, maybe bombing it would be a favour.

Do we know exactly what was bombed by the US and what the Israelis are bombing, probably not would be my guess.

Not one to take too many sides in this conflict, I think both are at fault, but I find it strange that we get reports out of Israel that 5, 10, 20, people died in bombing or drone attacks recently, even explosions near hospitals.

Then I think, Gaza, The Israelis have flattened the place in a similar way to how Russia has bombarded areas of Ukraine.

It was more the idea of a country that is not “at war”, in the official sense, with another country taking it upon themselves to destroy buildings that are not military targets.

Not a country @Tidemark, but a tyrant with no-one around him brave enough to stand up to him and explain responsibilities and consequences.

I do see why Israel needs to defend itself but, whilst its aims are sound, I don't agree with its methods.

                I found this enlightening:

I guess they ask out of surprise, @Jiffy. Once in Waitrose, the customer in front of me had nothing but lettuce, piled high. I asked him if he had a lot of rabbits. He laughed. It transpired he worked at a restaurant just round the corner and they had run out. I commented that was an expensive way to provide for their customers. He shrugged. Not his problem, as a lowly employee.

I have to say that this is one time I agree with @redstar . Trump gave Iran a slap and they sat up. They don't want the full spanking. Trump has done a couple of other things that make sense and his Musk/Trump bromance was a fiasco but this time he did the right thing. I'm not religious so I can't bless him but I do appreciate the slap down being done.

I hope I'm proved wrong but the general consensus appears to be that Iran is a fanatical regime which will not rest until Israel is destroyed. If a "slap down" is considered to be sufficient to make it alter it's attitude, that could have taken place some time ago. As with all these conflicts, we remain short on reliable facts. Whereas Trump is well known for trumpeting on social media and appears to change his mind/attitude every few minutes, Iran's leadership tends to keep much quieter. No doubt the US and Israel are privy to information that others remain umaware of and feel entitled to base their actions accordingly. Have they really destroyed Iran's nuclear capability or is this just going to be the usual "cease fire" until one or other decides it's time to have another go ?
Having said all that, Bananas are definitely a less controversial subject - I don't like over ripe ones
