      @redstar:-

      Lots of info out there. He'd planned one for his birthday in 2018 but it had to be cancelled after costs rose to 90m dollars. This one is estimated at $45m just for the army part but will likely exceed 117m with all the added costs.

      It's rather a lot for a draft dodger who never served and has withdrawn funding for veterans.

        I've had a read-up about her, @redstar. Some quite complex info to unpack, but she does sound like she would be worth a hearing in a leadership campaign, though, as you say, rather off-message on some topics for traditional Dem fodder. As she is now a Republican, the Dems have lost that chance though.

          I don't eat shop burgers. The few times I fancy one I make them myself :noidea: :biggrin: I make 'almost' all my own meals from scratch. :blue thumb:

            I'm afraid I've never had a burger, I think the smell puts me off.:biggrin:
            It's a bit like anything on a barbecue the smell is awful.
            Having said that I've never had what is considered a proper curry, but sometimes the smell from that around here seems quite nice.

                I do nearly all my own cooking too - except Gyozas - and from may nationalities, especially Thai and Indian. Home-made burgers too. In fact that's what we're having this evening but a mix of pork and veal mince with seasonings. No bun. Some good salads and roast sweet potatoes.

                Possum met an American in Brussels while she was an intern at Open Europe for her degree and he suggested they go for a McD for lunch? Noooooo she said. Utter cr*p. But they're so much tastier and fresher than the ones back home he said. She told him about beef cattle standards in the EU and not allowing USA beef imports cos of the hormones. He was dismayed.

                @redstar Did you know that McD employees in Denmark are paid more than Honda factory workers in Alabama? They get holidays and health care too. The power of unions and the EU social contract.

                  Amazon warehouse workers are paid more in Germany than here, and they get paid holidays too.

                  During the Democrat debate 5 years ago, Tulsi put Harris in her place very well, made Harris look like a real chump. During the process of that Democrat debate was when Harris was let go early. which is why we could not understand why Biden picked her, but in reality, Harris was just a good puppet.

                    The size of some of these burgers is astronomical and I can't figure out how the average person can get their mouths round them. Bread ( if the buns used could termed that ) cut in half used to be a sandwich which you could ( elegantly or otherwise ) take bites out of. The stuff they promote these days is eyewatering rather than mouthwatering :biggrin:
                    @redstar - is there anything at all you are unhappy about with your present government ? I thought that there were always people in practically every country on earth who eventually find something to disagree with about their govts plans/actions - whether they actually voted for them or not. Doesn't make your support any less valid but just doesn't come across as quite real somehow.

                      The point was not for Wendy's but
                      Where is the beef point. As the tariffs continue sounds like UK will be accepting Beef from America.

                      Ignoring it is one thing and is wrong, but it is still there for those judges brave enough to grant a request of habeas corpus. In England we have been known to ignore it from time to time, but even kings have been called to account under a writ of habeas corpus.
                      However suspending it is another kettle of fish altogether and reduces it to the level of Russia, China and North Korea among others.

                        Yes 13000 tonnes tariff free per annum and the same amount from UK to US; however any US beef imported into the UK from the US will have to comply with UK food standard regulations. So it will tend to be the top quality US beef that comes over.
