    Hello,

I have just read that green plastic covers for greenhouses are better than clear ones?

Apparently the clear ones are toxic and create too much heat, while the green ones filter the light but are not suitable for all plants.

I am confused about whether this is true?

    What would you recommend?

    Thank you!

PS: I hope this will be the last silly greenhouse related question for today!

In the context of a small blow away type then I think green is better, basically the green is providing shade by blocking out light. The trouble with any smaller greenhouse is that temperatures can soar very quickly when the sun comes out, even at this time of year I'm recording temps in the high 20s C. Anything over 30C is bad for most plants and above 40C is enough to kill some off if prolonged. I have to provide shading to my glass greenhouse for this very reason, even though I open vents/doors it still gets too hot.

      Hello John,

Thank you very much for your advice! So I will get the green one like I initially wanted. I should really stop reading too much information on stuff like this. I always end up confusing myself.

      Thanks again! :)
