Thought I would start the Aldi bargain thread to post up any finds, maybe local, maybe national ?

Today 1500w Scarifier picked up for £20 reduced from £69.99.

There was pruners reduced to £4 !

Couldnt buy any as carrying a scarifier 2 miles home on foot was hard enough :)

Good idea WeeTam. I would however just add a note of caution with regard to Aldi garden tools. If like me you use tools a great deal and the tools need to be pretty rugged then look carefully at the Aldi ones. IMO their tools used to be quite good but not anymore, mostly just cheap rubbish. I very nearly injured myself badly when a brand new pair of avil loppers sheared. The metal on the head failed, not the blade. If the metal had hit me it would have done serious damage. I would also add that Aldi customer service were less than concerned about the tool failing.Their attitude was that they hadn't received any other complaints. The items had only been on sale for 3 days by the time I reported the failing.....not likely many people would have used them by then!

Your right. Aldi/Lidl tool quality was better in the past and cheaper too. I used to go in and it would be me, a till operator and just a few customers. Now its bedlam, prices are up and some quality is down.
I dont really trust any brand now especially cheapy supermarket stuff. However my 30p sainsburys secateurs are good.
Tool overkill seems the safest way now,ie badass pruners instead of forcing secateurs etc.
I cant afford the pricey stuff usually so seek the bargains instead but theres cheap and theres just too cheap.:)
