Ok so it's Bommie Night (Bonfire Night for those who aren't Scousers :snork: ), so have a good night to all those who are participating and wrap up as it's meant to be a cold one.

And please please keep an eye on your pets. Please make sure they're safe and sound. :) :dbgrtmb:

My furbabies will be cosy toasty inside with me :dbgrtmb:
Pity because I haven't been to a firework display for a good few years and I had a hankering to go to one this year.

Enjoy your night/display and hope it isn't stressful for your pets or humans!

Our Flatcoated Retriever, Hugo will be totally stressed out as usual:

(Sorry about the link and not the actual photo, but I don't seem able to post them at the moment. The kind Mr Fat Controller is looking into it for me.)
Our big woolly Terveuren, Sheba, used to get terribly stressed and would curl up in the cellar until it was safe to come out. There has been warnings, even in Parliament, to check bonfires for hedgehogs.

Went to see a public display last night so didn't end up buying any fireworks.. Can't be bothered for the cold, faffing about lighting them or the noise/mess anyways. Neighbours are piling up actual rubbish from the bin to burn..:doh:oh, how they annoy me. Cats will be in, tough tits if they are moaning to go out just before it gets dark, I don't trust half the people around :frown:

Hope everyone's lil fur and non-fur babies will be ok :fingers crossed:

Luckly we don't have any pets now, nor do we have any firework partys near by just a few in the distances :)

Adjoining the rear of my garden there is a caravan home. Each Autumn/Winter the occupiers burn their rubbish on the fire (possibly a log burner? :dunno: ) and we know each and every time they light it: they burn plastic in it!! Talk about noxious fumes :mute: Still, they won't be there for too much longer.
Two homes (and several years) ago we had a gorgeous cat called Malachi. One day a neighbour from the houses behind us knocked our door to tell us Malachi was in her garden. By the time Mr "M" walked to the next street to her garden, Malachi had (and goodness knows how!) made it over/under/through the fence and was lying on the patio, clearly in much pain. His fur reeked of petrol! A trip to the vets confirmed his pelvis was utterly shattered and he had to be put to sleep. :cry3: A week or so later, the local paper reported there had been a spate of attacks on cats in the neighbourhood.
We made the decision to invest in the Ragdoll breed, a breed which is happy to be indoors and doesn't hanker to be out on the wander. Our first, Schatzi, was a dream of a pet and almost like having a puppy: he would follow you, sit and ask for his dinner and could recognise - and obey! - several "commands". I would never have an "out and about" cat again.

Yep same here, we have blue, green and purple flames.. god knows what they are burning! Smells awful and they leave it die down over night and sometimes start it back up in the morning  Aw at least you'll have some peace for awhile when they do go..wish my neighbours would do one too, sadly I found out they're buying their council house.. sometimes wish I moved when I had the chance tbh!

Ah Sorry to hear, poor little thing..:frown: a village few miles down the road had someone poisoning cats with anti freeze.. friends cat was a victim. Absolutely sickens me how people can be so cruel.
I would love an indoor cat, my 3 were not picked by me..Timmy was an unwanted kitten, a girl knocked on my door, cat in hand, so took it there and then, god knows what would have happened if I didn't take him in and then Simba and Cecil came from a house down the road and were in a dreadful state and joined me in the last 18 months.

Simba's not moved from the windowsill, Timmy is hiding in my daughters' cupboard but sleeping and Cecil has disappeared.. just before he did, he was nearly crawling across the floor, bless him.

Sorry for the delay @Oakridge - been at work all day and had a minor disaster getting home. I will try and get to your photo problem later tonight or tomorrow (I have another 10hr shift tomorrow, plus travel, so I don't want to make any promises I can't keep) - bear with me, and I will be in touch

Sorry I didn't get back last night @Oakridge - I was utterly knackered after work, and had a head full of mince.

I got your email - thank you, and hopefully the photo will now show here:

                                car1.jpg

I think I know why your flikr links didn't work - you don't have those photos, or that album set as public (I have never used flikr, so I am taking an educated guess here...); when I tried to click on the link, I got a Yahoo login page asking me to log in.

As for uploading to here direct from your PC, I am not (yet) sure as to what the problem is  - there appears to be nothing wrong with the picture, so it appears that something is blocking it from uploading at your end; what that would be though, I have no idea.

I did a guide a wee while back for another member which I will try and find (I can't remember if I did it by email, PM or in a thread  :old:) - when I find it, I will post it here or link you to it; failing that, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday, I will create another one for you. Worry not, we will get you sorted one way or another.
