                That's why I just dressed normal. Pink tutu, bovva boots, barbed wire bra and cowboy hat. If I'd known it was fancy dress I'd have wore my viking helmet instead.

                        I wish I had a pound for everytime I have been asked if I am Police! It happened again last night.
                        A great time in a little pub, where everybody was really friendly towards us. We were complete strangers, yet people of all ages were coming up and talking, and offering to buy us drinks.
                        Had a dance, and made some friends. A good start to 2017 :Wino:. I think a similar thing happened last year though, and what a rubbish year I had after that :sad:........:biggrin:

                                Happy New Year to all! We went around the corner to a neighbor's. They cooked steaks out on the grill and had cabbage. Not exactly a culinary delight, next time I'll carry a big bowl of potato salad and maybe some Bar-B-Q baked beans. But we had a great time. My husband is a great big kid and the children flocked to him. The "big boys" shot off fireworks, the big ones that fire off with a huge BANG, shoot up into the night sky and explode in a flower bouquet of glittery sparkles. My husband adores fireworks and he put on a good show.

                                Our neighbor requested my eggnog, so I happily obliged her request. Their 10 year old son was at my elbow watching intently, so I let him help, explaining the process. His parents allowed him a foamy glass of eggnog. Eggnog was a hit, mostly with the ladies, the men were manly drinking Jack Daniels and coke.

                                My husband and the children lit up sparklers, Roman candles and other low key fireworks suitable for kids. The children loved him, he was having a large time with them.

                                We were home around 10, watched New Year's celebrations on TV and went to bed.
