    :scratch:can any one tell me why nobody has come up with a stump rooted parsnip? there,s stump rooted carrots but not parsnips why?

      I have been growing stump rooted parsnips for a coupel of years as I found that when I pricked out self set seedlings into vending machine cups and then set them out into the ground instead of having a nice long tap root and on them they tend to go stumped.Next time we get over to the lottie and Mr Kandy digs up a couple I will show you what I mean:biggrin:

      Know what you mean though but I expect most people want them with long tap roots as you get more parsnip for your money that way:snorky:

      yes but harder to dig up and more prone to snapping plus in the winter months when I want mine they and me are covered in mud:psnp:
