Solved Mystery plant

I planted this early last year and it appears to be about to flower. Leaves similar to a foxglove - any ideas please?

 

they look like Leonotis menthifolia , lions tails .....orange flower .

 

Maybe Phlomis sp.
Yellow flowers.

The leaves of leonotis are much narrower. more likely Phlomis russeliana, yellow flowers

 

I agree , the leaves are too big for the lions tail , Phlomis russeliana, it much more common and easy to self germinate .

 

Many thanks, it's probably because phlomis is classified as a shrub in my books that I haven't been able to find it! I'll wait with interest to see the flowers open!

 

Phlomis russeliana. a bit of a thug, easy to propagate, frequently admired by visitiors to my garden.

 

Please can anyone advise if it is ok to prune the Phlomis Russeliana hard back after flowering as it does tend to sprawl and look untidy at that stage?
