    Hi everyone,

Gardening newbie here! I’m just starting to get a little collection of plants on my decking, some ready to be planted out in the garden when it’s been overhauled. I came across this plant at my local B&Q, it caught my eye straight away (I’m a pretty plant kinda girl!), it had no label just £3 written on the pot in marker so I though wow what a bargain! It’s gorgeous and looks fantastic on my decking but I have no idea what it is?? I’m intrigued? Any ideas?

I also think it's a nemesia. Is it fragrant? They sometimes have a scent that reminds me of vanilla ice cream.

Oo yes, I just researched it, it certainly looks like it! And yes it does smell sweet, I love it!

Thank you for your replies :)

For the past 3 years I have bought Nemesia Wisley Vanilla.
It just goes on flowering and smells just like Vanilla. NEMESIA WISLEY VANILLA 11-08-2015 13-03-10.JPG NEMESIA WISLEY VANILLA 11-08-2015 13-03-54.JPG NEMESIA WISLEY VANILLA 16-05-2015 11-02-09.JPG

          Wow, beautiful!

Mine doesn’t seem so ‘upright’ it’s abit wilted maybe, it was probably abandoned as it’s was in the reduced section!

Hopefully mine will look like this with a little TLC xx

Yours looks lovely! @Silver surfer Do you deadhead it regularly? I think that's why mine failed to flower for as long as it should have when I grew it a couple of years ago. Could be insufficient watering too, I think.

I have never ever dead headed them.
A single plant was expensive..this year it cost me £6.49.
But they just keep flowering and getting bigger.
              Die at first frost.

Just wanted to say welcome aboard @Julysunshine - I see you have already met our resident identification expert @Silver surfer (unbeatable in our eyes) as well as our @Nikolaos and @Verdun.

I look forward to seeing you around the forums, and hope you enjoy a good natter with the GC family. We don't really do formality around here, and you will find that it's not one of those forums where the grammar police are lurking all the time. Make yourself at home and enjoy :)

Hi @Julysunshine , definately not a Diascia,, they have open flowers like a little trumpet.

                        Agree with KFF.
I am 100% sure your plant is Nemesia.
I was just trying to show the difference between Nemesia and Diascia using the spurs.
