Erm, could they not take it to the ECJ, just for kicks?

They already sought advice, and tried to get them involved, but the EU realised that it would be a bad move as it would confirm the truth.

I agree...but in layman's terms to me they're making out that our Queen is as thick as the 17.5 million people who voted to leave.I find it very insulting..

Just a few points....yes, there are a few hundred thousand Brits living in EU countries that are feeling very insecure. I'm not one of them, fortunately, but I do sympathise with those that based their life decisions on a status quo which is shortly to disappear. There are indeed many who will not fulfill the criteria for stable residence in the country of their choice. Some of these countries have already put in place legislation to protect (initially at least) those immigrants who, apparently, are unable to rely on their country of birth (and more importantly, a working lifetime's-worth of contributions) to ensure that they will continue to have a pittance of a pension and health cover. But certainly in France, the residence criteria are applied quite strictly and if one doesn't have the equivalant of the minimum wage in terms of revenue, one is invited to repatriate.
People emigrated before the EU existed and will continue to do so, but the bureaucracy and cost of living as a 'third-country immigrant' are horrendous, and certainly way beyond the means of the less well-off.
Equally, I've no children or grandchildren (that I know of  ) that will be affected by the loss of EASE of freedom of movement, but I know a lot of young people over here who have benefitted from it in the past and are at a loss to see what exactly the UK stands to gain by isolating itself. Their problem :dunno:. And of course, the problem of the young, working French who have been flocking over to London, contributing quite a bit to the economy, and who are now departing.
I'm sure all this won't make a jot of difference to the evangelical ones amongst you who truly believe that the UK is better out of the EU :) Perhaps you're right, perhaps you're wrong..time will tell. Let's hope we all live long enough to see.

Surely the Queen has advisors, or does she just go along and agree to anything put under her nose?
If so maybe she could sign a few cheques for me.:)

As to the Prologueing, sounds a bit french to me,, why has the idiot Boris done it?
I mean it was bound to cause all this trouble.

He could have just left the R soles to talk about things for weeks on end, they would have got nowhere and achieved nothing,;) but by doing this he has given them the upper hand and he appears, again, to be the villain of the piece.

Naah:nonofinger:, I wouldn't worry about that, loli, with our MP'S and interested, well funded, anti-BREXIT organisations. being well below the IQ of a dead chicken it kind of nullifies any questioning of the Queen's intelligence or those who voted OUT.:dunno::heehee:

Actually Loofah, I did think about that and they, technically, could, but the ECJ would want to sit over an appeal of that nature as much as they would want to catch a Social Disease:hate-shocked::runforhills::runforhills::runforhills:. But we are in very strange, unprecedented country and have been since the MP Remainers started to resorted to passing legislation against the BREXIT MP's.

Hi Clanless , can you explain what you mean please.

As I've said before we have a brilliant MP who has stuck by his constituents all the way through this mess and hasn't voted against or rebelled against the Government once. Why would you be happy if people like him stayed away or got voted out at the next election ?

Well, I should imagine she saw that coming and sought some advice, but I think she is very much her own woman and would have approved the proroguing quite happily. The last time a King or Queen refused a Prime Minister was back in Queen Victoria's reign so, unless there are extreme circumstances she/he is expected to agree to a request.

No, I tried that, pete, but Prince Phillip told me to %!$£!! off.:hate-shocked:

I think, KFF, that clanless, being an ardent LEAVER, is referring to those Conservative MPs who voted against the Government.:coffee:

The idea was to limit the MP's debating time down to 17 days giving them less chance to agree to more plots and legislation designed to stop BREXIT. The trouble is that the only thing that the MP' can agree on is that they hate Boris and any idea of BREXIT even though some of them profess to want a BREXIT with a good deal.

People would interpret that as they are being pressured to leave on their own accord or they will be put on the "Boat" anyway.

Well. I don't think it's a case of "their problem" as it's everyone's problem. but the only change is they will need their own UK Passport and that should be it, unless the EU puts up pointless paperwork walls.
Also what is the UK isolating itself from? It merely wants to leave the EU Club and trade openly and without restrictions and independently globally, it will still trade with the European Countries under the control of the EU, people from the EU and the UK just need to use Passports and, yes, there will be some delays but that would be
worth it. I can understand why individuals will be concerned how BREXIT will effect them privately, but BREXIT is a National project on which the national freedom, trading, and political independence goes beyond an individual's desire to travel into European countries without a Passport.

But it hasn't worked, its just made matters worse and more condemnation, it was bound to put their backs up.
They are still plotting, they dont need to be sitting in that place making silly noises to be unable to plot.
They could talk from now till doomsday and and none of them would agree on a single item, but by doing this he has made them join forces and they are now beginning to close ranks and form some kind of concerted opposition.

Divide and conquer, he's just brought them all together.

No, you're right, pete, it hasn't worked, and they are united to keep legislating internally but the point is that "they" still can't agree amongst themselves on a plan for a deal for BREXIT and so it's going to be hard for the EU to think there would be any gain in an extension request.
Also, pete, all the numerous law suits against the Government are not by Political Parties but privately by people who are backed by financial anti-BREXIT organisations.

I think it's wrong to criticise Boris for using any method he can to get to BREXIT especially as he is quite aware of the fanatical opposition he faces. Would you or anyone else picked up the "Poisoned Chalice" and be doing better??. Hunt would have followed the rules and submitted to everything and we would not have to where we are now even though you seem to think that is nowhere whereas Boris is trying to find a way, in any way he can. You say he got peoples backs up. well, he did that as soon as he became Prime Minister:wallbanging::dunno:

But nothing has in reality changed as they're still as divided as they were before over finding or approving a plan.
