Anyone able to graft pear trees !?

Looking for someone in london whos able to graft pear tree cuttings ! Pretty urgent and willing to pay !
Any help would be appreciated
If anyone knows of any companys who may be able to help id love to know

Hi @Soys ,if you get the chance and have I-player check out BBC's A to Z of gardening.They're grafting Apple trees to make 'family' trees if that is the sort of thing you are thinking of..

Sorry but I'm a bit confused. You mention grafting pear tree cuttings. Do you mean perhaps that you have some pear tree cuttings say from pruning, and now wish to graft them onto established rootstocks, or,. You have some rooted peartree cuttings and wish to use these as rootstocks and subsequently wish to perhaps obtain cuttings etc of other pear varieties and thus, hopefully build up a collection?

 

Hi mike , im kind of new to the gardening world so bare with me lol , im able to take cuttings from the tree for atleast another month so was hoping to get some and maybe graft them to my other pear tree i have already established in a pot .
I did try last year and failed miserably , but now as were leaving the property its pretty urgent .
I have tried planting cuttings and failed at that to lol

@Soys Grafting is normally done in springtime. I would get hold of the desired rootstock ASAP and plant it in a pot. For a pear you want either Quince A (semi vigorous) or Quince C (dwarfing). Take your cutting material as late as possible and store in the fridge until spring. Then graft onto the rootstock and cross fingers.
