Some garden related news from the BBC, not surprising to us I am sure:
"Phil Jones of JustSeed in Wrexham, which sells a wide range of plant seeds, says he had to stop taking orders after a rush for staples including carrots, lettuce, beans and tomatoes.

"It's just the sheer volume," he says, "We're catching up with a massive surge."

Two of the biggest seed companies, Marshalls and Suttons, have stopped answering the phone.

For some buyers, there is a worry about fresh vegetables running short, but Phil says many are just looking for an activity.

"They've been meaning to do the veg patch for years and it's something educational to do with the kids," he adds.

Another specialist retailer, Franchi Seeds, has taken down its website temporarily, saying "people are panic buying"."

JW Parkers have also closed down their order lines due to demand until later this week. Blast, I wanted to order some Scadoxus.

Some are saying a 6/7 week wait as veg seeds are already out of stock due to the increase in orders. I managed to order some Jalapeno seeds, supposed to be here in a few days but spring onion seed is unavailable or on ebay for bidding(!).

One of our village pubs was raided by the police yesterday!

Three uniformed officers arrived with blues and twos, walked in and accused the landlord of continuing to serve drinks to customers. He told them to use the sand sanitiser by the door and stand 2m apart as required by law. He then pointed out he was only serving one drink to the one customer in the pub at any pre-arranged time to collect their take away food orders and pointed to the big chalkboard on the wall with records for the day. When they then went to go away he had to remind them to use the sanitiser on the way out.

You might get classified as a panic buyer/profiteer/etc. and get it cancelled

Sainsbury's online ordering - thought I'd be a bit clever and press the button that said I was vulnerable/over 70 to get to the front of the queue (was actually going to order for my Mum). Guess what - all the delivery slots were booked...thwarted again.

Yes they are, when we did my Dad's order earlier in the week ,despite he's been having online ordering for over 3 years now and with added info given that he is in his 90s and lives alone and can hardly walk and may take a while to answer his door.....we were told that he wasn't vulnerable!!!!!:yikes: My sister was fortunately online at the time when a slot sudden came up for Friday....so she grabbed it quickly!!

No available click and collect slots at any Tesco within 20 miles, and no deliveries available. Wonder what time of day they extend the 21 day period by another day, midnight?
