The black trough is on the top patio gets plenty of sun all day long, the others in the same area as other photo shows, are all fine and thriving. The second trough (green one) is in front of my greenhouse, one end of it the plants have shrivelled up but yet all the rest are fine? This one gets sun from around 11am onwards. Many thanks in advance 20200514_122642.jpg

    Hi
it could be that they got too much sun or they dried out because of it. Being seedlings they would be very delicate.

Have they been out all the time?

Wind damage? Does not take much to damage young plants.

@Islander77 I never thought of that, we do get shocking wind up here as we live near the motorway too so very open, so thank you so much for that.

I don't put out any summer bedding until the end of May ,beginning of June....and I'm down south. If you have more out just have some fleece handy. We're down to 0c again tonight, way too cold for very young bedding.

Wind destroys! When I lived up in Orkney, very similar to here for gales etc, we would protect eg young cabbages with empty tin cans with the bottom taken out. Up here I cannot plant at the back part this year as winds are stronger than usual

@Telmadee if you put them back in the greenhouse you'll have to harden them off again before they stay out completely.

But looking at them, they should recover. It was interesting as I had spent half an hour moving young peas out of the back patch because of the wind!

I go with frost damage, just too early for that kind of plant especially if its not been hardened off.
