Meat factory's use agency works, as for the cleanliness i'm going to say nowt, but a family member worked in one for some extra cash and what they said was not good ;) but that was 5 years ago
But there are lots of people in the food chain breaking rules from the start to the finnish (Farm though to shop), and there are people which are doing the best job there can do

@Fat Controller Sorry, I missed the word "active" in your posting. I forgot the UK doesn't globally post the active case numbers.

Guess we are fortunate here as we have access to all information like this daily / yesterday from Safe Communities Portugal ...

      "Covid-19 DGS Situation report

Directorate-General for Health (DGS) announced this Wednesday the existence of 1,543 deaths and 40,104 cases of Covid-19 in Portugal, since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of deaths rose by three compared to Tuesday, while the number of infected people increased from by 367, which corresponds to an increase of 0.9%.

There are 429 hospitalized patients, 12 fewer than the previous day. 73 are in Intensive Care Units, one more compared to Tuesday.

The number of recovered cases rose from 25,829 to 26,083, plus 254.

The three deaths and 302 (82.29%) of the new diagnoses occurred in the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo."

We also get breakdowns for each Province so I know where all cases are in Algarve, ie, confirmed, recovered, deaths.

I don't think I would encounter anyone, but we don't go to beaches, shopping centers, etc, only specific small restaurants and friends' homes and they to us. T'other Half does the shopping every two/three weeks. There was one couple and one other person in the Garden Center the other day, plus a couple of staff, all wearing masks.

Algarve has a population of +/- 450,000 and 194 active cases as of yesterday, 2 hospitalsed, neither in ICU. We have three SNS/NHS hospitals and four Private.
Silves County where I live has a population of +/- 37,000 and 5 active cases.

I feel relatively safe and comfortable but don't take chances.

If they get any closer they'll have to form human pyramids.

Is it safe for their kids to go back to school yet?

Hi @Jenny namaste it's plastered all over the news.

The biggest outbreak was at the 2 Sisters plant in LLangefni. Anglesey with over 200 cases linked to it - not necessarily all at the plant.

34 cases linked to Kepak in Merthyr Tydfil

70 linked to Rowan Foods in Wrexham

The Food Standards Agency said it was "very unlikely you can catch coronavirus from food as the virus is a respiratory illness."

I really don't believe people would be that stupid after lockdown. :noidea: Actually, it's hard to believe anyone would want to be that crammed at any time :hate-shocked:

WHO saying there is a 2nd spike on the horizon in those countries who have eased lockdown - looks like England is going to be at the head of the queue.

Thank God we still have 5 mile travel restiction here in Wales :blue thumb: - the tourist spots would have been heaving.

It seems that some people just don't care - right up to the point where someone they care for gets Covid-19.

The residents of Bournemouth must be absolutely furious

From the ITV - Welsh beach on the left and English beach on the right - or is it the other way around?

Perhaps Drakeford is taking the correct approach - if this is how people are going to react when the rules are relaxed. Don't want a load of people from over the border coming here to spread the virus.
