It's a group that cares about it's family and friends, Simon, while also knowing of the shortness of Life itself, it's joys and it's pains, and the need to live it as much as possible:dunno::hapydancsmil::hapfeet::heehee: which includes a glass of the Golden Amber every now and then.

Not a problem, Jenny, as a bottle of the 18 year version was a gift from my work colleagues over two years ago and is still in the unopened box in the Pantry and, for you my friend, you'd be more than welcome to be the first to enjoy it.

yeah sorry, was just a joke, wasn't intended to come over as judgmental. Looks a cracking malt by the way - make mine a double if you're pouring.

I was just guilty of taking time out to sound formal and serious:psnp: and to let you know that we do have fun on GC and the kind of people who are in the GC Gang with you:dunno::heehee: ........they're great people:love30::love30::love30:..........well, except for FC and Me when we're on the down half of a bottle of Whiskey:doh: And there's always a glass of the Golden Amber waiting for you, Simon:thumbsup:

Having all of my life, the desire to be a doctor of medicine. I am saddened to say. This covid 19 pandemic has really thrown the cat amongst the pigeons. My GP surgery. I/we have been with them since 1964, when we moved to this flat. Over recent years, about five. The surgery has absorbed another local practice, due to the owner of the house used by the other practice, wanting his premises back. My GP practice is fairly newly built. Then a few years back a pharmacy was built onto the side of it. Very convenient. The number of doctors has now risen to around eight. There is also a nurse. A clinical carer. Umpteen receptionist, most who probably share moments outside. Oh yes, a practice manager. Then a lass dealing with prescriptions etc. Now a gadget has been installed, whereby, you sign yourself in. Then another thingy that will take your blood pressure.
So with all this. Stepping back in time. My old doctor, his wife was a qualified nurse, tree receptionist and all that. At that time . You. The patient was worth two shillings and sixpence to the doctors salary.
My old GP at Woolwich. He was a very ill person himself. He never hesitated to, put his overcoat on, over his PJ's ane drine three miles to attend my eldest daughter in the middle of the night. Agreed. In those days. Your GP was, really your best friend.

Now. Daughter Amanda, who you m,.ust all by now know. She is my youngest. She stayed with this surgery but lives about two miles ouside the area. So no home visits. Amanda reall is a tough lady. No joke. She has so many medical problems. She suddenly locked up. Something went click and she was virtually unable to move. She has a medical degree in Anatomy & physiology, so she is no nutter. Phoning the surgery. Everything is now done online. She went through all the proceedures. Yes a doctor will call you back. Zilch. Zilch. Contacting the surgery again. Sorry the doctor has gone home. Finally contacted 111. Call was passed to a doctor. He agreed she neede Diazapan. He phone ahead to Queen Marry's Hosp Sidcup. Doctor there diagnosed and agreed on the medication. So sorry but the pharmacy is closed. It's now midnight and mo local pharmacies are open. Sorry Amanda but even here on the wards, no diazapan. Sorry for the language but. In all honesty. What the bloody hell is going on?
