I get on really well with my in laws, a hell of a lot better than I do with my own family. So, for the 2nd year in a row, we will be going to the in laws where at least the booze flows smoothly and I can get drunk without my mum suggesting I have "issues with alcohol"!

I know where you are coming from Lyn. Both Mr 02 and myself have been married before so have children from our previous relationships. The only thing we argue about is the kids. His girls are still at home (28 and 26) in his house. The eldest invited us for Christmas dinner to which we agreed, Then a few weeks later asks her dad if he minds if they invite their mum also!!! To which he replies,if you do We wont be there. So now shes gone of in a huff. Unbelieveable!!! The trouble is she is not used to her dad saying" NO" to her.:p

Just done part one of the family bit, my grandparents.

150 mile jurney, Bridge toll, overheated house, very very high calory food, and a load of nonsense about the second coming and possible powercuts. Oh yes all the old family news repeated for the fourth time.

Familys, got to love them lol!!!

We are at my Daughters for Christmas Day.
1st time in 32 years I haven't cooked for everyone, no problem there I won't see any of them the ( in-laws ) I hope, it's Christmas Eve I'm dreading.
    They do the visiting thing.
But I have arranged a meal out with our Grandchildren for the afternoon.
    So will be out. :hehe:
But speaking to you all I am feeling much better about it now.
I do realise it's not just me and my in laws who have problems at Christmas.
    Just had a bit of a panic.:o

Well I have gotten through Christmas without seeing one of them.
A couple of phone calls that were quickly passed to my husband.
So all in all not a bad time.
Went to our eldest Daughters Christmas day , had a lovely day with the children and my dad was with us.
As my younger Daughter as said.
Mom you really have to learn to swerve. :hehe:

I`m glad it went the way you wanted Lyn-so did mine as it turned out, not so much as a phone call. Course not sure which is worse having to deal with him or having to deal with the kids wanting to know why their Grandad can`t be bothered with them!
