I like Carol but I think she was offered the job before Monty but turned it down for unknown reasons. She really knows her stuff on Gardening and propagating and I agree with you about having female Lead Presenter but who else is there after Carol?:dunno:

I confess. I seldom watch any gardening programs. For what it's worth. Having had a glimpse of various GW presenters. Geoff Hamilton came across as easy going, keep things simple type of chap. One who loved his garden and simply got on with the job. I don't think he went much on. Which is my best pose for the camera.

AT. as he is so often called. Sorry. Can't stand the chap. OK he studied at RBG Kew. I have never seen him actually working. Always leaning on the hoe and rabbiting on.

Monty Don. Pleasant chap. Great journalist and excellent presenter.

Carol. She has this special something about her. She's the sort that spots a tiny sprout between the paving slabs. Teases it out, pots it up and makes something out of it. I'd love to meet her, but I'm afraid she would leave me far behind with her dashing about and all her fitness. Phew! I am already puffed out. If only her voice, accent could be adjusted. Nevertheless, why shouldn't she be in the running for presenter.

Alan Frost. Well rewarded by the RHS. Yes, a great gardener but. He plays to the camera too much and prances around like a dancer from, A Midsummers Night's Dream.

Hmm:scratch:, I read in the Amateur Gardening Magazine a couple of years ago where she was quoted as not being interested in the job as she was having legal problems with her Business and disputes with partners:dunno:

She's brilliant and her enthusiasm is infectious. I loved her short series Life In A Cottage Garden. But Adam Frost would still get my vote (and I like to think that's not subconscious gender bias!), I really enjoy the episodes where he stands in for Monty.

Sorry :love30: . I've never watched any gardening programme on TV :dunno: A slight exaggeration as I did watch Percy Thrower on 'Out and About'. They eventually renamed it Gardener's World. :old: :heehee:

I found Carol Klein very interesting when I met her, in her garden, but the garden was in a bit of a mess as she had been too busy doing all her appearances around the country. :noidea: She had some students helping her but they didn't seem to know what they were doing. :rolleyespink:

I agree that Carol Klein is a lovely, enthusiastic person and very knowledgeable. I can imagine her garden being a bit chaotic but she knows her stuff and doesn't profess to be a designer. I've met her and what you see is what you get. Adam is another genuine non celebrity gardener and I trust his advice.
With the lockdown we are getting a spate of garden makeover programmes which I find tedious, cheap television in the vein of Pooch Perfect - wtf. I would like to see some of the Ground force gardens Alan Titchmarsh did with Charlie Dimmock revisited. That would make some interesting viewing!

I agree.. Carol has the skills but her accent isn't too easy on the ear.
Frosty would do for me, but a female presenter wouldn't be unwelcome.
