Did anyone see the police retreating from the Hungarian fans during the incident in the crowd.
In another country that bloke would have been in hospital now, instead he just kicked and pushed them back, and they went.

I seem to remember someone on here saying that it was illegal to capture images of people outside the boundaries of your own property.

I don't watch football, but I do despair with our police services in general. They seem to be too busy worrying about rainbows on cars and dancing at Pride than actually dealing with real crime.

Public domain - you can photograph anything and anyone you like, even on the street. There have been many cases where the police have tried to stop people doing so and it has ended in tears for the police.

What about dash cams, often see footage from them being used publically

Hello yes I have been put in a police van at least twice for taking photos at the Dickens Festival in Rochester but then released with an apology from the police:heehee:

The rules around CCTV were eased particularly once the authorities realised just how helpful they were in the investigation of crime. Time was you had to display a sign on your property warning people that they were being filmed and with the then mandatory data controller's information, but that is no longer required for domestic premises any more.

They weren't because you were taking photos but because I told them there was a dodgy looking character wandering around. :roflol:

I purchased some plastic fence top spikes - to stop pigeons/cats - they came with a sign warning people that they were there - so it looks like these signs are still needed even if the spikes are on the top of a fence well within your own property.

I think the current view is that there is no expectation of privacy when you are walking down the street or in any other public place. If this was the case no one could take photos of the Queen when she is out and about - for example.

Must admit I wouldn't want neighbor's cameras watching my every move.
I think it should be illegal.

I know cameras are a useful item but I think they are over used.

Interesting that the judgement appears to be mainly around recording audio - ie. picking up personal data.

I agree, your cameras shouldn't take in other peoples private property - that's invasion of privacy whether audio or video.

Saw something on youtube a while ago - somewhere in the USA - the neighbour dealt with intrusive video cameras by blinding them with his own laser device. Not good for neighbourly relations I think.

I have cctv cameras at the front and down the hillbilly side of my house. If I didn't mask some of the camera viewing area, it would pick up everything in their back garden. I have them to deter bad behaviour and to keep an eye on the boundary fence and the vehicles in my driveway. I've had them for some 12 or 13 years and only ever bothered to keep any recording if it involved illegal or abusive behaviour. They are a great deterrent as not much nonsense has gone on since I installed them. :)

Masking is a great feature. The cameras have a wide view/span and there are some things that I definitely do NOT want to witness. Now or later!
