I mentioned elsewhere that the first of my roses to bloom was through the adjoining fence and the beautiful blooms on my neighbour's side, and only visible from my upstairs office window. Well, now I have a lovely rose which has come through the fence from my neighbour on the other side and in fact in the next street. It is lovely.

It is right in the corner, behind my apple tree and growing over my Rhododendron. When it is done we will cut it back but leave it slightly through the fence, for next year.

Then you definitely should make sure that this innocent looking little thing won't smother it within a few weeks. Had one last year and it was really beautiful.
I am still plucking seedlings out of my garden every other day.

I like Nasturtiums. I have them planted in various spots around the garden.

I have one climbing Nasturtium plant that clambers through a small "Angel Wings" rose bush. It finds the Angel Wings the perfect climbing frame. The Angel Wings hasn't been harmed by it.

Having said that, I keep Nasturtiums away from some parts of my garden, such as near some delicate little plants. Nasturtiums have quite big niche areas in my garden, where they don't trouble other plants, and I keep them by the wall mostly and pull them back or trim their leaves if they overshadow other plants too much. At the moment tall climbing Nasturtiums share a pot with some tiny orange and purple violas at the front.

Nasturtiums have often surprised me how much I like them, and recently a small variety of Nasturtium produced flowers and my initial reaction was disappointment because they were a pale orange colour and smaller flowers than my giant climbing Nasturtiums, but it has produced such a profusion of these flowers that clamber up a Feverfew plant that I decided I really like them too.

My first Nasturtium "Dayglow" flowered a couple of days ago. It was grown from seed, in a hanging basket, and we were thrilled because it looked like it was only producing leaves.
