What weed is this?

    Can someone tell me what weed is this and will weedol or roundup kill it?

    I think it's a buttercup. There are several different species and I can't tell which one this is.
    I don't know what kills it, I tend to dig them out.

      Round up will kill the grass as well, I'd just dig it out if there are not too many.

          Looks like buttercup to me too. Usually you see them in meadows, they can get quite tall. But in a lawn environment when you are mowing regularly they can become almost like a creeping ground cover. Maybe the low creeping one is a different species. I have it on my back lawn.

          I go to the heart of the plant and use one of those long narrow fork type tools to dig out the whole plant, roots too. When you lift it up you will sometimes lift a network of "runners" too which hug the ground.

          If left to their own devices, which I certainly don't allow, I suspect they'd cover a wide area quite quickly. They're on a par with dandelions on the pest scale that's for sure.
