It looks carroty to me too - I thought at first it was cow parsley until I looked closer.
I'm talking about the original query, not the 2nd one.

I agree the 2nd one isn't G. urbanum - the foliage looks very pointed compared to it. Maybe have to wait until there's a flower @RoddersUK and that will make it easier.

It does look that wood avens that we have in our garden. As usual we never planted it but it is all over the place. Can be pulled up quite easily and when left to seed....never stops.

Oops, before reading this again, I had a little impromptu jiggle around this morning and removed this, based on thinking it was a wood avens.
Bit late to save it now and see!

Such is life @RoddersUK ! If it was a weed, and you'd left it, you'd have turned your back for five minutes and it would have taken over your entire garden - and the neighbour's...:heehee:
It does look like Astrantia, now that @Silver surfer has said that, and mine is just about at that stage of growth. They do seed around so perhaps it has come from a neighbouring garden if you don't have any?
Perhaps there'll be another little seedling somewhere.

Do you think this is a match? AC0D44F9-6726-44E7-8B98-B73EC45906C7.jpeg 19602094-6B0F-4C8F-8D77-DA38FEA90080.jpeg

It’s the plant I referred to in my earlier post which was given to me by @Angie Jones (nut) … it has creamy flowers (a bit like meadowsweet) and red berries … it’s happy in shade … I wish I could remember what it’s called … :wallbanging:

I could go retrieve it from over the fence....I'll go see how it's doing, then pot up if looks ok.
            Just curious now!

Blimey, so much bindweed out there I didn't think I'd find it!
All planted up in a pot, looks ok still.

Looks like one of the Actaea, but I can't remember its name, @Dovefromabove

Actea rubra would appear to fit the bill for mine @Punkdoc :) I wonder if there’s a chance that @RoddersUK ‘s plant is the same ?

Could roddersuk be a hardy geranium? Looks a lot like mine.

Hmmmm, I have tried geraniums in that area years ago, but they've never faired well.
              Maybe it's come back?!
