Finally got around to purchasing some hardy kiwis for the sunny side of our house.
I got "Issai", "Kens Red" and male "Weiki" to pollinate it. Ill pot them up in a few days when theyve adjusted. Hopefully it pays off in a few years, though they are also quite ornamental in my opinion.

Purchased from Victoriana for £12.5 each.

Here are also some kiwi seedlings I was growing for fun :spinning: so red and crispy from sunburn...! :rolleyespink:

Actinidia, Kiwi fruit, is red and very hairy, I grew some from seed years ago but they never flowered and I gave up on them.

Yes Actinidia Arguta. supermarket kiwi is Actinidia Deliciousa. Golden Kiwi is A. Chinensis (theyre all from china though).

I think you can grow the fuzzy kiwi in the UK just fine but you really need a big area. I have seen photos of wild kiwis that take up a whole cliffside!

@Adam l we have had kiwi jenny for over 20 years now and only last year did we get any fruit. This wasn't from seed but plants. Wish you all the luck with yours.

              Good luck with more!
We have a kiwi as an ornamental but it hasnt flowered in years. Its in the shade but I think we prune it incorrectly: From what I read they only fruit on 2nd year growth, and we were pruning the whole 6m growth every year...
