Solved Can anyone Please Identify this Penstemon?

Hello all

I Hope your are Well.

I have a Penstemon in the Border outside the Back Door which I am trying to Identify:



I think it may be a Penstemon Beardtongue, can anyone Please Confirm, or, Not.

It's definitely a Penstemon. I've never heard them called Beardtongue before.
I once had a similar coloured one to yours, called Garnet (that's the variety) but it died a few years ago for some reason.

 

It's also known as P. Andenken an Friedrich Hahn (Garnet's much easier!). I had one in my front garden. It got to a good size and overwintered well.

 

I agree too - Garnet
One of the easiest to grow and any stems that touch the soil usually root.
Cuttings are very easy too.

I had this group for 10+ yrs but I lost almost all of them after a really wet winter a couple of years ago.
Fortunately a couple did start to re-sprout last year, so the clump is slowly building up agan.

Agree with previous replies: Penstemon 'Garnet'; synonym P. ‘Andenken an Friedrich Hahn’. I've had it in my garden for 25 years, when other varieties have been short-lived!
