In theory it should happen more from now as we get more daylight. It's easy for me to work out as our solar panels register it. With regard to dryness, we are in one of the driest areas of the UK. That's why using water butts is almost a waste of time - although we have four of them.

I'm hoping that the next three days continue to register the sunniest days as the forecast is good in that respect.

Another frosty morning but it's not as frosty as the last few days. The forecast is sunny and warm.

No rain yesterday but we will possibly make up for it tonight.

Sun has been popping in and out and it is gusty/windy and 12c going to 18c. Martinho has passed The Azores and Madeira and on our doorstep.

Another white lawn this morning, but it soon disappears with the full sun.

Going up to 14c. Still very dry and I noticed some cracks in the soil too. I am going around to see what needs watering in the flowerbeds. We have clay soil.

Lovely weather for a few days now.

5 degrees this morning, but it was -3 inside the greenhouse last night and there's a skin of ice on the wildlife pond. Clear blue skies again so we may pack a picnic basket and go snake hunting again, we went into the Glens yesterday but only found this juvenile Slow Worm.

Sunny so far! Forecast is sunny intervals only. The last of the sunny days tomorrow then we are back to rain most days. “the garden needs it” though.

I'm still wearing my walking boots and scraping the mud off them every morning, don't think I will be watering anything for a while.
