We have a shrub in the centre of our front garden that we are looking to identify.

Does anyone know what the name for this shrub is please?

Agree with Pieris. The only variety I can think of is called "Forest Flame".

Thanks for everyone identifying this as a Pieris shrub.

I have looked at some varieties online and Pieris Japonica "Mountain Fire" looks a very close or exact match.

        This is your pic enlarged.
Excuse me ...but earlier you did not even know this was Pieris.?!

Pieris Mountain Fire ....has darker deeper red leaves leaves as they emerge.
It looks very different from Pieris Forest Flame...see my pic below.
Quote RHS......'Mountain Fire' is a bushy medium-sized evergreen shrub with red young leaves, turning coppery-green and finally dark green; flowers creamy-white, in branched panicles in mid spring"

PIERIS JAPONICA MOUNTAIN FIRE 11-05-2024 15-04-04.JPG
        .........................................................

Pieris Forest Flame.....the leaves change through from scarlet to a pink then a very pale shade as in your pic./and mine

Quote RHS ...."A large evergreen shrub, the young foliage bright red, becoming pink and cream, finally green. Small cream bell-shaped flowers in large branched clusters in spring"

I am 99.9% sure it is Pieris Forest Flame ...but maybe you know more than me.
