Hi, I've an area at the bottom of my garden, 10m x 8m approximately. It's covered with heavy duty polyethylene and then bark, I have containers around this area with mostly perennials but a few bedding plants. Unfortunately there's a few weeds still coming through the bark, I'm not really healthy enough to be leaning over weeding anymore and as much as I'm reluctant to I'm using weedkiller. I've been recommended Rosate 360........can anyone off any further advice? Tia

That weedkiller should kill most things green. Depending on what weeds you have? It doesn't kill horsetail for example.

Rosate 360 is very strong so use with great care.
Even a tiny amount of it drifting onto a plant is often enough to kill it.

I use it only on dull, calm days and always set the sprayer to small droplets, not a fine mist.

Any glyphosate product with 360 in the name will be much the same as Rosate.
It just indicates the amount of glyphosate contained in 1L of product.

@JWK I thought glyphosate was the only weedkiller left for horsetail?

It will kill it but needs a few applications as I understand it

I believe some have had success with glyphosate/horsetail - if you can tread on it first, stems will burst open giving the glyphosate a route into the plant.

I'm pleased I have no horsetail, so it's not something i've never needed to try.

The old :old: recommendation for horsetail was to bash it with the back of a spade before putting the weedkiller on it. This was to expose some of the inside of the horsetail.

Could you just hoe regularly, and leave the weeds to die on the surface? No bending.
