Ever get the feeling that you recognise something, but can't put your finger on it?? I have a volunteer (surrounded by potatoes and weeds, all volunteers as I haven't got round to weeding these tubs yet), and sort of have the feeling I've seen it before. Leaves have that slightly 'hairy' feel to them (a bit like a cucumber) which had me wondering if it was a squash of some sort, but the leaves look the wrong shape? I also wondered if it was a sunflower, but again, wrong shape?

I think sunflowers too, maybe dropped by a passing bird?

Pretty sure I tried sowing sunflowers in these barrels last year and they didn't germinate, but I'd have thought they would have rotted over winter. Could be a bird - we do feed them a mix of nuts and seeds etc.
