There are no thorns and no berries ... just the white flowers that smell awful (to me). If it can grow to 15m then its time to get rid of it

There are loads around here now in flower.
One of my favourite shrubs - but yes, the flowers stink

That is what prompted this question .. I'm working on my lawn and the very strong smell almost rotten smell.
Can it take serious pruning .. keep it to 6' high ? I like flowers for the bees .... I planted 40m of Cotoneaster Francheti to give bees & birds something .... and they love it.

The flowers don't last more than a few days and are really good for bees.
Then it will soon be covered in red berries much loved by birds.
Then the leaves turn wonderful colours before dropping.
      They're lovely trees

You can give it a prune - ideally in winter.
If you're removing almost 1/2 of it, probably best to do it over a couple of years or more.
