    Hello Everyone,

Can anyone identify the name of this shrub from our back garden please? It has pink flowers and green leaves. It is just starting to come out into flower recently.

A lot of these are pruned regularly but if you have the room to let it grow it makes arching cascades of blooms.
If anyone is ever in Cornwall, visit Burncoose Nurseries and garden. The garden is free to visit and has acres of mature shrubs which show how lovely they can be when allowed to do what comes naturally.

Thank you for your replies. I have done a Google search for Weigela shrubs as you pointed out. I saw a photo for the Florida variety as you pointed out it might be and yes it looks very similar. I think with high certainty it could well be.

The tallest vertical stem has grown unevenly from planting the shrub a few years ago and needs pruning to even out the shape.

There was another big Weigela of the same type in its place before it unfortunately died off and we decided to replace it with another, but this was some time ago and we had forgotten the name of it since.

Baalmaiden : funny you should say about Cornwall as we live in mid Cornwall.

Hi, Yes I am loving the weather at the moment. It's been a good start to spring. Up early today and it's another beautiful day. Caught up on everything in the garden recently, concentrating on other things for now and enjoying the sun. Have a good weekend.

Baalmaiden: I looked up Burncoose on Google Maps and that they are based in Redruth. Would be worth a visit. Thank you for that.

We have a smaller front garden and a larger back garden. Everything is done for now. Next will be to trim the evergreens front and back in mid May, so I hope the weather holds as it's been beautiful so far. This is the back garden taken this morning.
