I need some advice on my runner bean plants. I grew the seeds in my greenhouse and then planted them in the ground about 3 weeks ago they’re about 6-8inches tall, since planting them they seem to have stopped growing and haven’t gotten any taller.

I’ve done the exact same thing as I did last year and they grew wonderfully, there in the same plot in my garden, get a lot of sunlight and I water them any evening

any advice as to why they’re not growing? Thank you

If they are looking healthy, they may just be settling in and developing a good root structure. You don’t day where you are, around here the nights have been quite cool, sometimes chilly, so that may have slowed their growth a little but they should soon get going.

Watering every evening sounds a lot, a good soak once a week or maybe every few days is probably enough

    Hi
You planted them out too early , cold nights have stopped them growing, but they will bounce back very soon

Yes, their origins lie in Central America. They don’t like to be chilled at night.

I agree with the above comments. The weather recently has been glorious in the daytime, but I wouldn't plant runner beans before the 2nd half of May unless your garden is very sheltered.

Thank you guys, hopefully they start growing again soon

Another question, this is my first time planting potatoes. I put them in big pots and have been earthing them up (followed a video and that’s what it said to do)

when they reach this point (see photo) , I could put some more soil in but once that’s reached the top of the pot, do I just leave them alone now?

Put some more soil or compost on top, leaving about an inch so that water doesn't overflow when you water them.

How deep are the potato pots and how many potato's did you add to each pot? If they are main crop and you want to build up the soil layer a bit more you can add a cardboard collar to the pot, so it holds more soil. You can get away with smaller pots for first earlies because they crop quicker.

              Hi

you will need to feed the potatoes
