        Fabulous orchids, @Scroggin and @strongylodon !

On a walk around Loch Graney today we found Sisyrinchium bermudiana, common name Blue-eyed Grass, which is on Ireland's red list. It's described as "scarce", found in damp stony places in 3 western counties, including Clare. Nobody has any theories about why it's here, though - Wikipedia says it's "native to Bermuda and the island of Ireland"...

At Martin Down on the Dorset/Hampshire border the stunning Burnt Tip orchids have failed this year due to drought, instead of 7/8 12" high flowers this is all there is.

I really do love seeing the stunning photos of wildflowers that are shown here.
Many decades ago I had to build up a portfolio of wildflowers as part of my dissertation. This was the first time that I had actually really looked at the flowers along a road verge. It opened my eyes and they are still opening with your wonderful photos. Many thanks as it always makes my day to see your photos.

@strongylodon I think that I have said before...you need to publish the photos of your wildflowers for more to see. They are superb. As always thank you for sharing so many stunning wildflowers.

Seen beside a fjord in Norway last week. Don’t know what the little purple flowers are, or which type of wild orchid.
I saw some bee orchids just starting to flower here in Devon today.
