I got custard mix between the layers of my old oven door and it was a nightmare - never really got it clean but my new oven has a removeable door. I got my husband to remove it when I cleaned it as the glass is heavy. I recommend the Pink Stuff paste for cleaning.

Reminds me of Bob Flowerdew's answer when he was asked if he had time for housework - get very low wattage lightbulbs so you can't see the dirt!

These make me feel less guilty about my housekeeping.
40 years ago my mother visited just after I'd moved into my first place, she comes in and runs her gloved finger along the top of the door frame, looks at it; sniffs and says you got the kettle on yet. No hello, no how are you?
You've guessed right we weren't besties.

I'm with @pete on both car washing and mowing the grass; which is why it's grass not lawn.

I've only cut my grass once this year up to now, I expect if we get some rain that will be another job I will have to do.:phew:

We might get rain tomorrow and thunderstorms. I hope so. Lightning tracker app at the ready!
I'm not the one who cuts the grass.

My relatives were arriving within half an hour and, amongst other things, I still had cream kitchen floor tiles to mop and dry. I was getting a bit panicky as I had had a tussle or two with a few drippy teabags, and was somewhat exhausted at this point as well, when my mum told me to just spot clean and not worry too much as my Aunty’s eyesight had deteriorated, as hers had, and she knew for a fact my Aunty wasn’t able to see too much detail. I have relied on that gem, perhaps mistakenly and my relatives are all talking about me, for many years since.

My neighbour wasn't into housework. When it was her turn to host the playgroup, she would empty the contents of the toy box over the floor. It hid a multitude of sins.
